About Heritage Rottweiler Puppies
At Heritage Rottweiler Puppies, we run a small, family-run program that raises purebred, AKC-registered Rottweiler puppies in our home. Health and temperament guide our breeding decisions, daily handling and household life shape our puppies’ early weeks, and clear health guarantee terms stand behind every placement. We want you to know who we are, how we raise our puppies, and what to expect from your first question to homecoming and beyond.
Our grandfather’s Rottweiler was the first dog we trusted.
When I was a young girl, my grandfather kept a Rottweiler named Duke on his farm. Every summer, my family made the long drive out to visit, and Duke was always the first to greet us. He waited by the porch steps as our car came up the gravel drive. He walked the fence line each morning with my grandfather, followed us children through the barn and fields, and leaned his full weight against my legs whenever I sat down beside him.
Duke was calm, steady, and patient. He let my younger cousins climb on him and rested his heavy head in our laps during thunderstorms. People who met him for the first time sometimes kept their distance because of his size, but within minutes most of them were kneeling down to scratch behind his ears. Duke taught me early that a big dog can have a gentle heart, and that loyalty, when it is earned and returned, is one of the most meaningful gifts a dog can give.
The search that shaped our program
About twenty years ago, my husband and I set out to bring a Rottweiler into our own home. Finding a breeder who communicated clearly, answered questions honestly, and shared organized health information took far longer than we expected. We wanted to know about the parents, the health screening behind them, and what would happen if something went wrong. Too often, those answers were vague or hard to find.
We eventually welcomed our first Rottweiler, a female named Bella. She went everywhere she could with us, met neighbors on evening walks, and settled under the kitchen table while we cooked dinner. Through her, we gained practical experience with socialization, exercise, training, and the consistent guidance a large, devoted breed needs. When friends and neighbors began asking where they could find a puppy raised like Bella, we remembered our own search. We decided that if we raised puppies, families would never have to wonder what they were getting or who would stand behind them.
We named our program Heritage in honor of the family tradition that began with Duke. A Rottweiler becomes part of a family’s story for many years, and we take that responsibility seriously from the first breeding decision to long after homecoming.
Health and temperament come first
Our parent dogs are purebred, AKC-registered Rottweilers, and health and temperament guide every breeding decision we make. We follow the breed-specific priorities recommended by the national breed club and the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) Canine Health Information Center (CHIC), which emphasize hip and elbow evaluations, specialist cardiac and eye examinations, and DNA testing for juvenile laryngeal paralysis and polyneuropathy (JLPP). These evaluations help reduce inherited risks and support the sound structure, movement, and steady temperament that make this breed such a wonderful companion.
Raised in our home
Our puppies grow up in our home, not in a separate kennel. From their earliest days, they experience daily handling and gentle introductions to people, household sounds, and everyday routines. They hear the doorbell ring, the dishwasher run, and conversations around the dinner table. We get to know each puppy’s personality, whether bold and curious or thoughtful and observant, so we can offer families useful insight before homecoming.
From birth, every puppy has a care calendar and folder recording feeding, vaccinations, deworming, and veterinary visits. As they grow, we add AKC paperwork, pedigree, microchip details, and individual care needs, then review everything with you so you can continue care with confidence.
A thoughtful homecoming
Puppies go home no earlier than eight weeks, once they are fully weaned, developmentally ready, and examined by our veterinarian. We offer home delivery throughout the contiguous United States for a flat $300 transportation fee, which covers transportation, the travel crate, and carrier charges. We confirm every detail with you before booking and keep you informed along the way. Each puppy arrives with transition food, their care folder and calendar, and a mother-scented blanket where suitable.
Standing behind every puppy
Careful breeding lowers risk, but it cannot prevent every health concern. That is why we provide a two-year health guarantee. Our congenital and inherited coverage continues through your puppy’s second birthday and includes a full purchase-price refund for congenital and inherited conditions, whether you keep your puppy or return them to our care, along with reimbursement for diagnosis costs. For delivery we arrange, we also provide 14-day protection for infectious illness present before handover or acquired during transport. Our Health and Guarantee and Shipping and Delivery pages explain every step in plain language.
Small by choice
Interest in our puppies has reached families well beyond our area, but Heritage has never become a high-volume program. We raise a limited number of litters so we have time to notice the details, answer questions thoroughly, and build real relationships with the families who reach out to us.
A Rottweiler is a loyal, affectionate companion for the right household, one that is ready to offer structure, training, and time together. We are always happy to talk honestly about whether this breed fits your lifestyle. Email us at info@heritagerottweilerpuppies.com. We normally reply within 24 hours.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family and our dogs. We look forward to getting to know you.
